SRA’s Wounded Warrior Program (WWP)

SRA's Wounded Warrior Program (WWP) provides career transition and support to severely-injured military service members and their families by identifying potential career opportunities across SRA. Founded in 1978; SRA brings together a team of talented professionals who help our clients achieve their critical missions. SRA aspires to be the world's best company in everything we do, guided by an unwavering commitment to Honesty and Service®.

Eligibility Criteria

WWP participants have injuries or illnesses incurred during deployment in overseas contingency operations, or WWP participants may be the primary caregiver and wage earner for a family of the service member if they are unable to work. In addition, WWP participants:

Receive a physical disability rating of 30% or greater from the Department of Defense or Veterans Administration in one or more specific categories that substantially affect one or more major life functions.

Receive a combined rating equal to or greater than 50% for any other combat or combat related condition.

Widows and widowers of fallen service members are also eligible for support under the SRA WWP.

Candidate Intake

Candidate intake will consist of an initial orientation of the program with an opportunity for Wounded Warriors to self-disclose and opt into the program.

Health Advocacy

SRA's Health Advocacy team meets with the WWP candidate following the qualifications interview to evaluate and identify required accommodations. If the hiring team is considering a candidate, the candidate must be interviewed by SRA Health Advocacy to identify if the job is a good match relative to the candidate's required accommodations.

When possible, SRA Health Advocacy will contact the Veterans Affairs Care Manager to verify the identified accommodations to determine whether they can offer additional recommendations. The SRA Health Advocacy team reviews the recommended accommodations with the hiring manager and program manager to ensure an appropriate job match.

Hiring Procedure

All WWP candidates will be advised on the lifecycle of the SRA hiring process, including: converting their current military occupational specialty (MOS) to a civilian career (if applicable), career advising for the Wounded Warrior(s) moving into a new non-MOS equivalent career, preparation for interview, and a mentor assigned from our established Veteran Employee Resource Group.

Interviewing - Onboarding

WWP participants may compete with other qualified candidates for existing open positions. In such cases, additional training may be considered to augment the participants' experience.

The Wounded Warrior Program does not guarantee the wounded warrior candidate will be hired, however the program will work with business leaders within SRA to determine the most sustainable and accommodating opportunities for all participants, and will actively engage leadership throughout the process to ensure success.
