United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Announces Veteran Intern Program

USPTO's new Veteran Intern Program (VIP) is designed for military Veterans who want to gain work experience and training in the patent examining career field. Candidates for the program must have completed at least three years of study in computer, electrical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering. During their final year of study they will work on a paid, part-time basis at the USPTO. A participating Veteran who completes the program and receives a bachelor's degree may be non-competitively promoted and converted to a career patent examiner.

The USPTO is committed to recruiting highly qualified students for internships and recent graduates for permanent positions. To learn more about the VIP and other career opportunities, visit the USPTO Careers website.
